Pennsylvania has a great state song that talks about the beauty of the state and what is has to offer. Every state has a state song, and a state bird and a start flower. Pennsylvania has a state song. The state flower for Pennsylvania is the mountain laurel. The Pennsylvania state bird is the ruffed Grouse. These things combined make the state have great meaning to the hearts of those who are residents withing the state itself. People that may have been born in Pennsylvania and then moved to another part of the country. The Pennsylvania state bird is a the ruffed grouse is native to the area and is a game bird that is hunted in season. They live in the thick dense forest on the hill sides, close to a water source such as a river or creek. The Pennsylvania state flower is that of the mountain laurel. The plant grows as high as 15 to 20 feet and equally as wide with beautiful white flowers that bloom in June. They thrive on the hill sides and through out the beautiful forests that blanket the hills of Pennsylvania. If you have every known the pleasure of growing up in Pennsylvania or visited there, then you know it is known for it's natural beauty between the forests, rivers and creeks. The Allegheny River which runs through the western part of Pennsylvania is the longest gravel bottom river in the world. It meanders through the beautiful valleys.
