Scheduling with Calendars in SharePoint hosting sites is one of the most widely used features. There are centralized groups of calendars which are able to interact with a SharePoint WSS calendar list, or even multiple Microsoft Exchange calendars. The software in actual fact is able to do both of these actions side-by-side.

Users are able to add or edit items in a SharePoint hosting site list straight from the team calendar, or from Outlook. Meetings and appointments may be created and up-dated and the team calendar is able to display multiple Exchange accounts in one calendar. SharePoint WSS 3.0 hosting allows calendars to be displayed with customized color coding for different events and calendar types.

The new SharePoint WSS release of Team Calendar has the capability of overlaying Exchange calendars from various users on a single part of the web. A hosted SharePoint web site task list and one Exchange account may be used to create central scheduling on a site. This may also be used for a group or team and additional Exchange accounts may be opened to show other important calendars within groups or teams.

Users of the SharePoint WSS release of Team Calendar are provided with Outlook type scheduling facilities from within your hosted SharePoint web site portal. Non-SharePoint, Outlook-only users may be included in your scheduling activities by using Exchange services from SharePoint WSS.

Team Calendar provides a combination of contact management, corporate scheduling and list based calendars, allowing you access to these from a single web part. You are able to view any calendar part by Day, Week, Month and Year, create new events, add color coding and list items in SharePoint 3.0 hosting calendars, while meetings and appointments are made through Exchange.
