I have been plagued with the worst affliction that could ever affect a person like me. It came down upon me like a lighting bolt from Zeus of Mt. Olympus. I turned it over and over. There is no point denying it. The symptoms are very clear: I would stare at the computer screen for hours; I would fiddle with the keyboards; I would fidget on my seat. I have writer’s block. It is the point when a writer runs out of creative juices, and his mind draws a blank. It is like a psychological disease, perhaps a mind’s carpal tunnel syndrome from too much over use. During this stage, a writer can only hope that the muses will inspire him sooner for it may take years before creativity could sit in, and there is no over the counter cure for such affliction. How I wish everything will be cured by popping a single magic pill. Now as the cursor of the word processor program of my Toshiba laptop blinks ever so mockingly, I find that I got nothing to write and I am facing a deadline. Worse, I have to finish five articles and I have not even started on a single word with one article. I closed my eyes and started counting one to ten. When it did not go away, I decided to consult my fellow writers what to do. “Dude, you must not try to force yourself if there is nothing there. The best thing for you to do is distract yourself in a pastime that is totally distinct from writing. I suggest that you play some online games. Why don’t you try Bratz games?” “Bratz games? I have never heard of such games,” said I. “Bratz games are a collection of games designed for kids. Whether you are a fan of the Bratz line of dolls or not, you can always play these games for they are free. There are many Bratz games found in the net. Just look for it in your favorite search engine. My favorite site of them all is found in bratzgames. Why don’t you stop giving me that quizzical look and just try and see the site for yourself? It helps me banish my anxieties of being not able to write.” I laughed at this fact. It was too much for me. In fact, during that time, I seriously thought that my friend has lost his marbles. “Are you pulling my leg man? Does Bratz games pay you to say that to me?” My friend actually looked hurt. “No man. Have you not been listening to what we have been saying? Distract your mind. What better way to distract it than a bunch of kiddie games! If you do not believe me, it is ok. Do not take my word for it. Why don’t you check the site first and play? I mean, you are already in this dry spell.
