Despite the markets being huge and the numbers making you dizzy, the job of a freelancing professional is as difficult as running a huge business. You also have price pressures, competition from other freelancers and other organized small and large companies vying for a share of the same market. The other issue that you will face as a freelancer if you decide to be involved in high-end, well paying work, is to establish a reputation for keeping classified information confidential. And perhaps every freelancer’s greatest woe is without a doubt the lack of camaraderie and kinship that a traditional job can offer. This often makes the situation very lonely.

The other more important thing is to totally believe in yourself and you are as important to your clients as those multinational firms. You must always remember that being a freelance professional was a conscious choice you made for your very own unique reasons and that you talents are at par (if not better) than those who are engaged for long hours in a corporate environment.

One way to counteract those lonely blues would be to freely take the support and encouragement from friends and family.

We take this opportunity to encourage you by sharing some success stories.
Karyn Martin was cautious about launching her freelance career online, but she soon got results:
"I remember the days when I dreamed of being a freelancer," she says. "The word seemed magical to me somehow. Romantic, almost. Now, after having actually been a freelancer for a while, the scales have been lifted from my eyes and I have seen the light. You pay for being able to manipulate your time. You pay by working more, working harder, and - hopefully - working smarter. But what you get in return is priceless. Now I can call the shots about when I work, for whom I work, and how much I make."
You will have a world –wide network as Wayne Logue says, “I am based in Auckland, New Zealand, but I am also working for people all over the world - including India, Thailand, The US and now Hong Kong.”
Katheryn Mary Labosky, had a compelling domestic reason to step down from her high paying regular job.
She says,
"Both scared and elated at the possibilities, I turned on the computer and went to work. I read every ounce of material about doing business on the Internet that I could find, including the newsletters sent out by Go Freelance, the first work exchange program I had joined."
And what was the result?
"I make a decent living now," she says. "Despite the odds, and despite my being a novice of the net. Every week is now better than the one before it. Every day, I still learn something that I did not know the day before. Every hour, I still have my ups and downs. However, my business is still out there, and still attracting customers and clients on a regular basis. I still take each and every contract that is offered to me, no matter how big or how small."
