South America Colombia is blessed with a varied topography with discontinuous and narrow coastal lowlands of the Pacific. The coastal lowlands are bordered by the narrowest and lowest of Colombia's mountains ranges - Serrania de Baudo. Another major region of Colombia are the Lowlands of Rio Atrato and Rio San Juan. The eastern part of the country includes the lowlands called the Llanos Orientales, which are part of the Orinoco River Basin.
